Barbara Dickson OBE is a singer, songwriter and actress. She is a multi-million selling recording artist with an equally impressive Olivier Award winning acting career, seventeen Platinum & Gold albums and remains Scotland's biggest selling female singer of all time. Famous for her roles in Blood Brothers and Band of Gold, she is also best known for her 1985 single, 'I know him so well' recorded with Elaine Paige. Barbara has three grown up sons and lives in Edinburgh with her husband.
In this episode Barbara reflects on an early Sliding Doors decision to leave her job for a music gig - and how if she hadn't, would most definitely not be where she is today! We chat about her cautious nature and how taking chances in acting opened up the doors to her pop career. Barbara has always stayed true to herself throughout her career and has had some truly great 'what if' moments - including if she had not have taken her role in Blood Brothers, she would not have been married for 37 years!
